Brian became an avid sports fan at a very early age. As early as six years old, he became totally entranced with boxing and wrestling. He played baseball his entire childhood but mainly focused his passion on boxing. Brian started collecting all kinds of sports films when he was given the electronics at age 12 to accomplish this. He also attended live matches, collected magazines and sports memorabilia. He corresponded with pros and semi-pro boxers and other athletes and traded fights for their autographed pictures. Brian had amassed over sixty thousand boxing matches, interviews, documentaries and films in his short life. He was highly regarded in the boxing world.

Brian was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina and moved later to Summerville, South Carolina. During high school and after graduating, Brian worked in his family owned business. When it was sold years later, he devoted all of his time to his world of boxing. His other world consisted of his close family. Unfortunately, he suffered a heart attack on his 45th birthday. Not having any children, his mother donated his collection to the Boxing Genome Project in his memory so that his love of boxing will live on.
